We are excited to invite up to 10 supporters on a guided hike to one of the headwaters peaks that John will be summiting. If our timing is great, John will join us on the summit! The hike will be around 8 miles round trip, with 1800 feet of elevation gain. Our Executive Director Megan Fiske will be leading the hike and sharing her wealth of knowledge about the history, flora and fauna of the area. The majority of the hike will be on trail, but that last ¾ of a mile will be in Wilderness off-trail, so we are strictly limiting group size to 10 to protect Wilderness integrity.
More details about the location and nature of the hike will be shared with registrants. While the hike will be limited to 10 people, we encourage you to come up to beautiful Hermit Valley on Ebbetts Pass and enjoy the Mokelumne River. You’re likely to find yourself among good company, the camping is free, and the mighty Mokelumne is just steps away from the campground. While there is no formal camp-out, it’s likely that many friends of Foothill Conservancy will be enjoying the lovely summer evenings the weekend of June 10 – 12.
