Outings – Star Gazing!

No photo description available.

Foothill Conservancy has been working behind the scenes to bring the community together through our new outings program that launched this year. A collaboration between Foothill Conservancy, Farms of Amador and Mother Lode Land Trust focuses on the natural beauty, historical aspects and agricultural values of the land in Amador and Calaveras counties.

A community scavenger hunt kicked off our program series and invited people of all ages to explore the different parts of our community. Participants discovered items such as farms providing locally grown food, wrote recipes using some of those ingredients, explored nature by observing and sketching the animals they saw, collected leaf samples of native trees, and learned about people of the past who helped to build and grow this community that we treasure and work to protect.

Our next collaborative event will be stargazing hosted at a local farm. Keep checking our website for more details and to sign up soon.
